Advancing Clean Energy in Ohio....

The Ohio Clean Energy Coalition (OCEC) is a volunteer coalition of business interests that supports clean, energy-efficient, Combined Heat & Power (CHP) and Waste Heat Recovery (WHR) technology applications in industrial, commercial and institutional settings.

Ohio is recognized with high technical potential towards the implementation of these technologies given the existing industries and corresponding facilities yet lacks significantly behind in terms of overall market penetration (see charts below).  In 2011, 48 sites across Ohio were operating CHP systems with a combined generating capacity of 706.5 MW, representing 2.1% of the state’s total generating capacity (significantly below the nation’s average of 8%).

Today, OCEC champions CHP/WHR technologies as effective, economical and environmentally sensible energy options for the State of Ohio. Help advance CHP and WHR technologies in Ohio!

What is CHP?  What is WHR?
